    Timothy Gerard Benedict, born Sept. 12, 1972, in Pequannock, NJ, to Diane and Raymond Benedict of West Milford, NJ, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 14.
    He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Eleanor and William Benedict of Wayne, N.J., and Charles and Mary Gluck of Beaufort, SC.
    Tim graduated from West Milford High School and went on to get his degree in Criminal Justice.
    He then entered the Marine Corps and served six years in the Marine Reserves.
    He served in law enforcement in both New Jersey and South Carolina He then pursued a career in aviation as a commercial pilot for Colgan Air where he met his wife, Angela, settling in W.Va.
    Everyone who met Tim loved him, his sense of humor and his heart of gold. He will be missed by so many people who are feeling our loss.
    He is survived by his wife, Angela Winfree Benedict; brothers, Jason Benedict of California, Ryan Benedict of Hawaii; and his sister, Dana Benedict of N.J.; brother-in-law, Michael (Francis) Winfree; nephews, Victor Winfree, Jameson and Remington Benedict; nieces, Ashley Winfree and Briana Benedict; special friends, Daniel and June Spradling of Charleston.
    A memorial service honoring Tim's life was held on Friday, Dec. 22, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden, W.Va., with Father Donald Higgs officiating.
    Family and friends gathered before the service.
    Timothy will be laid to rest with military honors in Beaufort National Cemetery in Beaufort, S.C.
