Alana Dolce of Sparta took first place all-around at the New Jersey USAIGC State Gymnastics Championship in May, making her the state champion. Dolce received the highest all-around score in the silver division, which qualified her for the national championship. She also placed second on vault and floor, third on uneven bars, and fourth on balance beam. Dolce’s team, Northern Elite Gymnastics of Flanders, took first place out of the 18 teams competing in the silver division at the championship. Northern Elite Gymnastics had 10 girls competing in the silver division and two girls competing in the gold division. Coaches Sergio Estrada and Jackie Morris accompanied the team to the championship. The team is also coached by Val and Tatiana Tcheremnykh.
