WEST MILFORD A local man was arrested on Sunday after allegedly sexually assaulting a woman working in his house. On Nov. 26 the West Milford Police arrested Kermit J. Dockray Jr., 64, of 127 Germantown Road in West Milford. Police responded to the area at a little after 1 p.m. on a report that a woman had been sexually assaulted. The woman had fled the residence and run to a neighbor’s house for assistance. The 32 year-old victim is a registered nurse who provided home care for Dockray’s developmentally disabled daughter. According to the victim, Dockray assaulted her after she had helped him give his daughter a shower. The victim said she was in the process of changing the daughter’s clothes when Dockray attempted to initiate sex with her. She resisted his advances but Dockray persisted. He began fondling her and attempted have sex with her. The victim was able to break away from him and flee to a neighbor’s home. The neighbor called police. Dockray was charged by Det. John Calabrese with one count of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Contact and one count of Lewdness. Aggravated Criminal Sexual Contact is a third degree crime and Lewdness is a fourth degree crime. If convicted of these offenses, Dockray faces up to fifteen years incarceration and $15,000 in fines. Bail was set by Judge Selser of the Passaic County Superior Court at $75,000. Dockray was released after bail was posted by a family member. Det. Calabrese was assisted with his investigation by Ptl. Dennis O’Donnell, Ptl. Laura Paul, Ptl. Jason Lowenfeld and Sgt. Richard Fiorilla.
