WEST MILFORD On a little grassy stretch between the student parking lot and the high school building sits a sober reminder of just how dangerous an automobile can be. At the begining of the school year, three West Milford students were riding in the car when they had an accident. All three students made it out alive, despite the extensive damage to the vehicle. School Superintendent Glenn Kamp then contacted the mother of the driver and ask if the school could use the car as a tool to reinforce driving safety. It is part of a multi-faceted program. A few months ago there was an assembly in which a woman whose son was killed in a DWI accident spoke to the students. Many of those present said it was extremely moving. The last portion of the program will come on Thursday, a week before the senior prom, and will consist of a DWI re-enactment which will feature a complete simulation, including EMS, police and fire responders.
