All they are asking... ...is give Bea a chance

Miss Bea was wandering in a wooded area behind a local strip mall searching for food and water for some time before one of the shop owners was able to catch her. One of the area employees is also a volunteer at the West Milford Animal Shelter and brought her to the shelter. She was wearing an old white flea collar and was spayed, so she had belonged to someone and had either gotten lost or was dumped because the owner no longer wanted her. Miss Bea would not have lasted much longer out in the woods. She was in very poor physical condition and was very malnourished, dehydrated and had runny eyes. She has been recovering at the shelter for a few months with regular meals and a safe environment and has been treated with medication. Throughout her whole ordeal, she was always very sweet, loving and gentle. She loves to be held and likes to get as close to people as possible. Her nickname is “clinger.” Miss Bea has recovered but still has runny eyes due to allergies and may require treatment when she leaves the shelter for her new home. Sometimes animals have allergies at the shelter that clear up once they are in a home of their own. For more information contact the shelter at 973-728-2859 or www.westmilfordanimalshelter.org.
