WEST MILFORD — The WMTHS seniors and staff are working with the Cablevision cable company to broadcast their annual cable-thon on April 11. The purpose of the cable-thon is to raise money for Project Graduation on Sunday, April 1. The event will be aired from 5-9 P.M. on Cablevision channel 78. The cable-thon is the largest fundraiser to support the graduation night celebration. Project Graduation is a program designed to keep seniors off the roads and away from drugs and alcohol following their graduation ceremony. The program will include singers, musicians and other entertainers from the senior class, as well as guests from the school and town, and the presentation of prizes to donors who call in and contribute. Local businesses have generously donated money, gifts, and prizes. Each individual who donates over 25 dollars will receive a project graduation tee shirt and a chance to win prizes. The production staff for the broadcast will be made up of students of the high school TV Science program, assisted by employees of Cablevision. The Cablevision staff generously supports the broadcast with equipment and professional advisors. In past years, this effort has raised as much as $15,000. Cablevision services parts of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. The senior class would like to encourage everyone to call in and support them with their donations. Volunteers are also needed March 31 to paint TV studio sets. Please contact Mr. Porcello to volunteer.
