WEST MILFORD — Four people from The Garden Spa on Route 23 South were arrested on prostitution charges and a 2001 Lexus and $12,000 in cash was confiscated during the bust. The Passaic County Sherriff’s Department in conjunction with the detective bureau of the West Milford Police worked on the investigation for six weeks before making the arrests on Saturday, March 18. The investigation started because of information brought to their attention by a local citizen. “This is an excellent example of how County and Municipal Law Enforcement Agencies combined resources to conduct a joint investigation into an illegal business in our community. I want to commend every officer involved from each department for their efforts and professionalism,” said Police Chief Paul Costello. “The investigation was successful in shutting down a prostitution business that operated from a shopping mall containing a children’s dance studio, bank, post office and other retail stores. This illegal operation not only impacted negatively on our citizens, but also on the legitimate businesses in the area. The West Milford Police Department remains committed to providing investigative and enforcement resources to maintain the quality of life in our community.” Three women were arrested: Junghee Kim, 32, Xu Enjing, 34, Lui Yingji, 33, all from Flushing, NY and one man, Paixun Jin, 31, from Ridgefield, New Jersey According to Passaic County Sherriff Jerry Speziale, the investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are expected.
