WEST MILFORD The board of education this week voted to increase board of education election voting hours from 2 - 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. - 9 p.m. The polls are 6 a.m. - 9 p.m. during municipal elections but for the annual Board of Education elections, the hours have been much shorter. After a lively discussion on the matter, the decision to try the longer hours passed 4 - 3. At the same meeting, the board welcomed new member Dr. Michelle Fenwick. Incument members Greg Bailey and Drew Murray were elected along with Fenwick last week. Bailey and Fenwick took their oath of office, but Murray was out of town and will have to be sworn in at a later time. The board re-elected Midge Touw as president but opted to replace former Vice President Barbara Harlan with Robert Florian. Among the items discussed was the failed 2006/07 school budget referendum, which will now be reviewed by the town council. The council has the option of adopting it as is or cutting it as they see fit.
