WEST MILFORD — Herman Parish, author of several Amelia Bedelia books, visited Westbrook School this month at the sponsorship of the school’s PTA. He spoke about the process he uses to create these well-loved stories, from the initial ideas through publication. Mr. Parish’s aunt, Peggy Parish, is the creator of the original “Amelia Bedelia” tales and after her death in 1988 he decided to keep her ideas alive and began to continue writing the series. Some of Herman Parish’s works include “Amelia Bedelia, Bookworm”, “Bravo, Amelia Bedelia”, and “Good Driving, Amelia Bedelia”. Mr. Parish autographed copies of pre-purchased books for the children and they were all excited to learn that their beloved character, Amelia Bedelia, will live on for many years to come.
