Pompton Plains Having a new younger brother or sister can sometimes result in jealousy and resentment. Chilton Memorial Hospital presents a “Sibling Class” for children to address this issue. The program takes place March 24, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. The Sibling Class, for children ages three through nine, is led by a Chilton Memorial Hospital registered nurse. The program presents a realistic view of babies, and encourages children to share their ideas and feelings. It includes a storytime and a visit to the Hospital’s Family Care Center. Because baby care is an adult activity, no care is presented in this class. The focus of the Sibling Class is to reinforce the child’s positive feelings about his or her uniqueness and importance to the family. Registration for the class is $35 for the first child and $25 for each additional child. The Sibling Class is part of the Chilton Memorial Hospital’s Parent Education department. For more information, or to register, contact Kristen Altieri, Community Outreach Secretary at 973-831-5475. The hospital is located at 97 West Parkway in Pompton Plains, NJ 07444.
