Chilton to host pain seminar

    POMPTON PLAINS—To assist those who may be suffering from the effects of chronic pain, Chilton Memorial Hospital’s Psychological Task Force and the Interventional Pain Management Center will sponsor a presentation on Monday, Oct. 17, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. entitled “Coping with Chronic Pain,” featuring a panel of five professionals in the healthcare field. Dr. Robert J. Reinhardt, a certified acupuncturist will demonstrate how acupuncture can be effective in relieving and eliminating pain. Dr. Andrew Topf and Patrice Levy, RN, from Chilton’s Interventional Pain program will focus on chronic pain and pain management. Stefane Blazina, Physical Therapist and Reiki Master, will discuss the art of Reiki and massage. Eleanor Buscher, MS, LPC, NCC, will use guided imagery and biofeedback as a way to relieve chronic pain. Panelists will each give a 15-minute presentation followed by an open forum, which will allow time for brief consultations with selected panelists. During that time, Rich Nash, massage therapist, will offer chair massages. This free presentation will be held at Chilton Memorial Hospital’s Collins Pavilion.
