Chipper Tipper looking for a special home

WEST MILFORD — Tipper is a small, 5 month-old orange kitten in need of a special home and family. Tipper was brought into the West Milford Animal Shelter as a stray with problems with his hind legs. He was able to stand, eat and drink water, and use the litter box but on occasion his hind legs would weaken and he would stumble. He was also very frightened. At first the staff speculated that he was in an accident or had a fall but they eventually discovered he was born with a neurological impairment which causes weakness in his otherwise normal hips and legs. Like other kittens, Tipper is able to walk, romp, and play with toys. He is very happy but slightly shy and takes a little time to become comfortable with new people. He is gentle and loving, and given time and lots of TLC in a home environment he will become a loyal and loving pet. Because of his situation Tipper must be an indoor cat. His new family should have had prior experience as cat owners and he would be most comfortable with an adult-only household or one with children age twelve and up. Tipper is a special kitten in search of a special home and family. Could that be you? If so, please contact the shelter at 973-728-2859.
