West Milford — On March 30 and 31, at the closing sessions of this year’s Generations of Faith, a new approach to parish-wide faith formation for all ages, the theme was the Triduum. The Triduum recalls Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter. At the beginning of the sessions, however, a Palm Sunday procession took place. The procession commemorates the triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, His way being paved with palm or olive branches, signifying honor and victory. All the children in attendance were gathered in the lobby of the Parish Center where they were joined by three adults of the parish who played the parts of Jesus and two of the Apostles. A very special and surprise guest, Dominic the donkey, then joined the group for the procession into the Parish Center hall where they joined the adults of the group. The remainder of the sessions were centered on gaining a deeper understanding of the Easter season. If you listened carefully you could have heard the sound of Dominic’s braying echoing in the quiet hills that surround Saint Joseph Church.
