Fire company honors its own

WEST MILFORD — West Milford Fire Department Company 6 held their annual installation dinner at the West Milford Elks on Saturday, April 29. The following 2005 line and civil officers who were in attendance received appreciation awards: Chief Fred Stewart; Deputy Chief Paul Reilly; Lieutenant Wayne Morrissey; Lieutenant Mike Nicholas; President Adrian Birdsall; Financial Secretary John Kennedy; Secretary Mike Dygos; Trustee George Day Jr.; Trustee Paul Reilly; Trustee Fred Stewart and Trustee Bill Weaver. The following members earned service awards: 5 Years: Bill Murphy; 10 Years: Rich Bathmann; 15 Years: Wayne Morrissey and 20 Years: Mike Laky. The honoree of the night was Ed Olsen. He was recognized for his 50 years of service with Company 6. Olsen started his fire fighting career when the Company 6 firehouse resided at the bicycle shop on Union Valley Rd. He has held many positions, including deputy chief.
