It took five local fire departments a couple of hours to put out the blaze at 109 Pinecliff Lake Drive on Monday. The home, owned by the McAllisters, was a total loss. According to Fire Marshall Mike Woch, the fire was most likely accidental and started in the basement when no one was home. Woch said it occurred in the middle of the day when there are the fewest volunteers available, which is why five companies responded. The job was further complicated when a propane tank exploded. The responding fire companies were West Milford Co. 1, Greenwood Forest Co. 3, Macopin Co. 4, Upper Greenwood Lake Co. 5 and Apshawa Co. 1.
