Firefighter Mike Dygos and Lt. Ed Aldrich III from West Milford Fire Department Company 6 paid a special visit to the Kiddie Academy at Bald Eagle Square to talk about fire safety. Students were taught to check smoke detectors, never hide in a fire, stop drop roll, and 911 procedures. The firefighters put on all the fire gear including air packs so the students would see what they look like while going into a burning structure to help. The students had an opportunity to try on some of the gear and sit inside the fire trucks. Coloring books as well as escape plans were distributed to the students to reinforce what they learned.
