West Milford —This year the West Milford Parks and Recreation is planning the summer concert series, adding new bands to end the summer with a “Island Beach Party,” with music and dancing. This event will take place right on the beach at Bubbling Spring, steps away from the gazebo. The Parrot Beach band will perform songs from Jimmy Buffet and other music from the islands. Other performers include Country by Thunder Mountain, Van Martin and his big Band Sound with hits from the 50’s and 60’s, and polka/variety by the Ablemen. The summer concerts are designed to appeal to all ages and musical preferences by offering a variety of band styles. Last year, each concert brought out dancers ranging from children to senior citizens. Others brought their blankets and snacks and enjoyed a relaxing summer night filled with music. In order to assure the future of this event, the Parks and Recreation would like to invite those interested to be part of this community event by becoming sponsors, helping to bring this cultural event to the township. There are three levels of sponsorship: The Executive Sponsorship, a donation of $800, receives (company’s) name on all programs, advertisements/fliers (including press releases) and on the event sign. The Premier Sponsorship, a donation of $350, receives (company’s) name on all programs/fliers and press releases. The Associate Sponsorship, with a minimum donation of $10, receives name on all programs. Contact Parks & Recreation at 973-728-2860 or e-mail recreation@westmilford.org for additional information or to become a sponsor. This project is funded in part, by the Passaic County Cultural and Heritage Council at Passaic County Community college, through a grant from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of the State, a partner of the National Endowment for the Arts.
