On Thursday, October 5, the Wanaque and Ringwood Health Departments and Chilton Memorial Hospital are proud to sponsor “Gangs...Right in Our Backyard.” The program will take place at Lakeland Regional High School from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., in the auditorium. This program is open to all area residents. Awareness is the key to stopping gang activity, and parental involvement in this program is crucial. The goal is to make residents and parents aware of and educate gangs and gang activity. The Passaic County Sheriff’s Department Gang Intelligence Unit will be presenting the program. For parents of children in eighth grade and over, please attend this program together with your child. For parents of children below eighth grade, due to the graphic nature of the program, adults only, or with parental guidance. Call Marianne Stillman, health educator at 973-831-5433 to register.
