Girl Scout Junior Troop 174 paid a visit to the West Milford Company 6 Firehouse on Ridge Road to earn their safety patch and learn about fire safety. Troop leader Marie Cytowicz accompanied the Troop of 11 scouts to the firehouse. Firefighters Adrian Birdsall, Mike Dygos, Roy Sconfienza, and Bill Sturm hosted the event. The scouts learned fire safety procedures such as: testing smoke detectors, practicing escape plans, and stop, drop, and roll. The scouts then had the opportunity to see the trucks, handle the tools and try on the firefighter’s gear, shown here with Mike Dygos. All scouts successfully earned their badges.
