Four students from West Milford Township High School Concert Choir at were accepted into the 2005-2006 New Jersey Honors Jazz Choir. After a highly competitive audition process, Stephanie Irven, Christina Toale, Melissa Quinones and Jason Roe were chosen for the elite group that consists of only sixteen students from New Jersey High Schools. They will be performing next fall at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark and at the New Jersey Educators Association Convention in Atlantic City. The New Jersey All-State Jazz Ensemble group will accompany the group. Mr. Doug Heyburn, the High School's Choral director, said "I am really proud of the four of them because West Milford is a major contributor to the group. It is a small, very select group of approximately 16 members and our students comprise a quarter of it. It is going to be a wonderful experience for them. They will be at the Convention Center in Atlantic City as well as NJPAC and they will be accompanied by the All-State Jazz Band. It is incredible that these kids have such a grasp of improvisation at such a young age."
