WEST MILFORD School Superintendent Glenn Kamp has announced kindergarten registration will begin January 3, 2007, for those children who will be five years old on or before October 1, 2007. Now is the time to call the school your child will be attending in September 2007, to receive information and a registration packet. The following are the telephone numbers of each elementary school in the district: Apshawa 973-838-2763, Maple Road 973-697-0482, Marshall Hill 973-728-7319, Paradise Knoll 973-697-8668, Upper Greenwood Lake 973-853-4488, and Westbrook 973-697-0481. If you are unsure of the school your child will attend, the Transportation Department may be contacted at 973-697-0777 to assist you. Parents are required to provide signed proof of the following items for registration: 1. Date of birth (birth or baptismal certificate). 2. Immunization for diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, and boosters. 3. Immunization for poliomyelitis and boosters. 4. Two Immunizations for measles, after age one. 5. Immunization for German measles, after age one. 6. Immunization for mumps, after age one. (Or two MMR’s, after age one, in place of #s 4, 5 and 6) 7. Hepatitis B Immunization-3 doses. 8. Varivax (Chicken Pox Vaccine), after age one/or proof of disease. 9. Physical examination. 10. Proof of residency. A medical examination of each prospective student is required. Parents are urged to have this examination done by the child’s physician prior to September.
