WEST MILFORD — The West Milford Township Library will be spending the week of October 22-28 celebrating its Friends of the Library group as part of National Friends of Libraries Week. The Friends are a non-profit organization whose membership consists of town residents committed to supporting our Library. Currently 100 members contribute annually to the Friends and several contributors actively volunteer their time to assist the group with fundraising efforts that include the annual used book sale held in the spring. “The Library has always played such an important role in my life and in my family’s life,” said Friends President Marty Tappan. “I truly enjoy being able to give something back - and being an active member of this group is fun!” “Our Library offers better services because of the Friends,” commented Library Director Patricia Ann Hannon. “The funds they raise provide the resources for additional materials, programming, furniture and equipment.”
