Children and their families enjoyed activities, gifts and food at the first April Fools’ Family Fun event Saturday, April 1 at the Upper Greenwood Lake Clubhouse.

Organized and sponsored by Jeffrey Struck of eXp Realty and Elizabeth Petros Santos of Cardinal Financial, the event supported the West Milford Animal Shelter.

In addition to having candy, food and beverages, children and adults engaged with Star Wars Stormtroopers, Beanie Baby adoptions, clowns making balloon animals, drawing and coloring, face painting and the Easter Bunny.

West Milford Mayor Michele Dale also joined the festivities.

“It’s nice to give everyone a fun day and to help the animal shelter,” Struck said. “This was a first for us, and Liz Santos and I were helped by many people, including folks in my office at eXp Realty and the Upper Greenwood Lake Association.”

Santos, who is a volunteer at the shelter, said, “We’re grateful for all the support, the generosity of our association, and to be able to put on a fun day for all who came by. In addition to lots of painted faces, we had lots of smiling faces today for the event.”
