WEST MILFORD — Next Saturday, West Milford hosts its 19th annual Autumn Lights Festival, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. And this year promises to be the biggest and best yet.
Expectations are for 20,000 people coming to town for the festival. Over 200 craft and food vendors will line Union Valley Road from Bearfort Plaza down to the corner of Marshall Hill Road.
The day will kick off with a dedication ceremony of the new clock at the triangle with Mayor Bettina Bieri and the township council members on hand. Then, take a walk down Union Valley and visit the craft and food vendors. The West Milford Presbyterian Church's chicken barbecue is a centerpiece of the festival. It's not to be missed. You can find it near the Pinecliff Lake dam.
Local entertainment will fill the air with music from four stages along the street.
Stop by the booths sponsored by many of West Milford's volunteer and non-profit organizations.
Why not get involved in one of the eating contests? Dig in to the pickle, pasta or blueberry pie eating contests.
There are rides and games for the kids, an antique car show and a cutest baby contest.
It's just a great, fun day of community.
Shuttle buses will be available from the West Milford Public Library and Hillcrest Community Center where offsite parking is available.
So grab the kids and bring your friends from out of town. The Autumn Lights Festival is the place to be.
