Boy Scout Pack 159 takes part in the Zombie Apocalypse

    Anti-Zombie Car - The Black Hawk Patrol from Pack 159 decided on this streamline car to cut through the chaos. It got them to fourth place in the overall completion.     Dawn Of The Dead - Webelos Cub Scouts from Pack 159 decided to dress themselves as zombies to blend in. Even in this great disguise, they were still able to win first place in the fire building competition. The Blue Flaming Wolves Patrol are Austin Baird, Bryan Szolusha, Colin Newbury, Giancarlo Gomez, Tony Gryszkin and Evan Savona.
    Dawn Of The Dead - Webelos Cub Scouts from Pack 159 decided to dress themselves as zombies to blend in. Even in this great disguise, they were still able to win first place in the fire building competition. RINGWOOD — The Boy Scout motto is “Be Prepared” so when the Mayan Calendar said the world was going to end, the Boy Scouts were ready. The Ramapo Valley District of the Boy Scouts of America held it’s annual Klondike Derby on Saturday, Jan. 19 at Sheppard Lake in Ringwood State Park. The Klondike Derby is a scouting event that brings together scouts from all over the district to compete in Scouting skill tests. This year's theme was “The Zombie Apocalypse,” and teams of survivors race from town to town avoiding zombies, gathering supplies and trying to survive.

Scouts from Troop 159 in Hewitt participated in the derby, taking on several different roles. Some scouts gave zombie first aid; others were on scavenger patrol. One group of Troop 159 webelos dressed as zombies to blend in and finished first in the fire building competition. The Black Hawk Patrol from Pack 159 placed fourth in the overall competition with their anti-zombie car,

It was a fun day for all who participated.
