Eagle Scout Robert S. Ruth of Troop 146 in Hewitt had breakfast with United States Senator Mark Warner (D,Va.). Robert was invited to breakfast with the senator after receiving a congratulatory letter from him upon award of his Eagle in October, 2010. The breakfast was held in the Kennedy Caucus Room of the Russell Senate Office Building in Washington, DC. Accompanying Robert on his trip were his mom and dad, Theresa and Bob Ruth, his close friend, Marc Andre Massena and Marc’s dad, Marlon Massena. For his Eagle Scout project, Robert, 15, restored the Old Union Cemetery in Hope, cleaning 168 head stones and taking nearly 700 volunteer service hours. He was just 14 when he earned his Eagle award. Robert attends Morris Catholic High School and will be a sophomore when school begins in September.
