— They’ve been in business together since just May 1, but they’ve known each other for years. Wayne Warren, 34, and Brian Menier, 37, believe they’ve found the right time and place to set up shop.

Now the proud owners of B&W Services on Marshall Hill Road in West Milford, the two young men service, maintain and sharpen lawn equipment; mowers, weed whackers, leaf blowers and chain saws. They also service power washers, generators, snow blowers, salters and sanders and do minor repairs on dirt bikes and quads.

“It’s a straightforward business,” Warren said.

They are working in familiar surroundings since they were employed together as mechanics while they were in high school in the same type of business at the same location.

Both West Milford High School graduates, Menier in 1995 and Warren in 1997, the guys are pleased to be in their home town, among familiar faces.

“People already know us. It’s like we never left,” Warren said. Perhaps that’s why on opening day there were customers waiting for them at the door.

They’ve been kept busy since their opening, acknowledging that weather is a contributing factor in their line of work. Lots of spring and summer grass means lots of customers bringing in their equipment. Each season has a reason for repairs and upkeep and Warren and Menier are there to provide the service.

“We are local guys that are happy to be working and serving our friends and neighbors,” Warren said.

B&W Services, located at 54 Marshall Hill Road, West Milford, is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. They are closed on Sunday. Call 973-506-4084 for more information.
