West Milford. Cadette Girl Scout Troop 94899 members Olivia Schmelz, Lyndsey Haftek, and Lilly Rodek recently finished up their Breathe Journey with a "Take Action Project" for the Apshawa Elementary School.
The journey focuses on the many aspects of air through the use of all of the senses as well as learning about deforestation, renewable energy, and careers related to air.
After raising money and researching, the girls decided to purchase plants for each teacher at Apshawa Elementary School in order to remove toxins from the air, increase productivity of students and teachers, and enhance the mood of the classrooms.
Principal Stephanie Primavera accepted the plants on behalf of the staff.
