WEST MILFORD — West Milford’s Community Against Substance Abuse (CASA) is celebrating it’s 22nd year of offering Positive Parenting classes to the residents of West Milford. Once again, CASA is funding Positive Parenting classes, at no cost to parents, on Thursday nights at 7:30 p.m., beginning Sept. 26 through Nov. 21, 2013. This fall all classes will be held at the United Methodist Church at Newfoundland, 65 LaRue Road, Newfoundland.
This seven-class series will cover one complete subject each meeting, allowing parents to attend only those classes that their schedule permits.
Positive Parenting was established in 1991 to assist parents in developing the skills necessary to manage today’s daily challenges that face both parent and child. Each class will allow time for questions that are specific to the parents' needs.
Topics discussed will be: Why Kids Do What They Do, Reasons That Teach Values, How To Improve Your Child’s Self-Esteem, Stop The Yelling and Gain Cooperation, Creating An Academic Atmosphere In Your Home, Changing Bad Behaviors For Good Ones, How To End Tantrums Forever 1, How To End Tantrums Forever 2.
