WEST MILFORD — Community and school-based professionals took time out of their schedules to share their experiences with approximately 310 8th graders at Macopin Middle School on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013. The program, organized by school counselor Laura Borgess, is an annual event in which professionals speak to the students about their careers. This year’s presenters included staff members Abby Beyjoun, pictured above, Kristin McGovern, Denise White, Will Kochis, Jennifer Kupcho, Bill Greiner, Christine Dean, David Gluckstein, Sarah Warren, and district Director of Education, Iris Wechling.
Topics presented by the “in house” personnel included education, law enforcement, deaf education, psychology, social work, and real-estate. Returning to the program were Mark Salamone, Marci Babbitt, Dr. Eric Louer, and Sue VanOver. New to the program this year were Patrick Cottingham, Tim Dalton, Jennifer Hamilton, Andrea Jennings, Rich Poplaski, and Jessica Worthington. Career topics included law, visual arts, EMT, printing, forest stewardship, massage therapy, veterinary medicine, and advertising.
