Country Flow Yoga offering class for people affected by suicide

On Sunday, June 11, Country Flow Yoga Studio in Hewitt is offering a karma yoga class for those who have lost a loved one to suicide.
The class will be held from 1 to 2:15 p.m.
Many have been affected by suicide, whether losing someone close or simply hearing about it in the news. Yet it's a topic not discussed enough, according to the Michelle Brook, organizer of the class. This class is designed to offer an open, non-judgmental and safe place to practice yoga for anyone who has been touched by mental health struggles or suicide.
Yoga can provide healing in the form of therapeutic breathing, stress relief and mindful meditation. This class is designed for all levels, open to anyone who wants to simply stretch and breathe and feel a sense of community and support.
Brook is holding the class in memory of her mother, Sheila Salley, and all in the community and beyond who have struggled.
“Yoga helped me manage and navigate through the strong emotions and grief that arise after any traumatic loss, as the death of my mom to suicide was and is," said Brook. "I feel compelled to share yoga practices with those who are in need of healing, or just a sense of support and community.”
There is a $10 donation for each person; all money will be donated to The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
To register, go to afsp.donordrive.com/, or contact Brook at 862-221-6009 or mrbrook@optonline.net.
Country Flow Yoga Studio is located at 355 Warwick Turnpike in Hewitt.
