WEST MILFORD — When thinking about retirement, many people think about not having to go to work, down sizing to a smaller home, relocating to a warm climate area or having more time to participate in activities for which they did not previously have time. They make plans for a new stage in their lives.
When Clarence, a six-year-old Bichon Frise mix at the West Milford Animal Shelter, thinks about his "retirement," it relates to the type of home and family he would like to have for the rest of his life.
Clarence is small, cute and silly with very defined needs. He needs someone who will cherish him and have lots of time to relax and cuddle with him. And he needs someone he can love and cherish. So much so that he would not be happy sharing the love of his life with another four legged pet.
Clarence was recently groomed and shaved and his fur is just starting to grow back. He is also missing some teeth so his tongue droops from the side of his mouth. Without front teeth, there is nothing to hold his tongue in place.
He bounces and dances on his hind legs demanding attention and he is very happy when that attention includes being picked up and held.
Clarence doesn't just need a retirement home, he needs a retirement friend and companion.

Update to last week's article about Chatters and Guyliner: Guyliner was very lucky to be adopted but that leaves his Uncle Chatters alone once again. Why not stop by and visit Chatters to see if he's the right fit for your family.
