WEST MILFORD — The West Milford Democratic Club is holding an informational session on Tuesday, March 6, at 7:30 p.m. with guest speaker Carl Richko, a former mayor in the township and current member of the New Jersey Highlands Council and the Passaic County Open Space Committee.

Richko will discuss the recently proposed State Strategic Plan, the Highlands Act, and other open space issues.

According to the State of New Jersey Web site, the State Strategic Plan is a cabinet-level effort that will result in a set of recommendations that will transform the existing statewide framework for land use planning into one that prioritizes and supports sustainable economic growth.

Residents have 30 days after the last public hearing to submit comments on the plan. The final public hearing was March 1.

All are welcome to attend the discussion at Momento Restaurant, 374 Morestown Road.
