Driver cited in Macopin Road weekend crash

Police issued a summons for disregarding a stop sign to Cheryl Chapman, 70, of West Milford, after a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Macopin and Echo Lake roads Saturday afternoon.
According to police, the crash took place at the intersection at 4:24 p.m. Saturday afternoon when Chapman’s 2017 Chevrolet Cruz entered the intersection to make a left hand turn onto Macopin Road.
Chapman’s vehicle hit a 2001 Honda CRV being driven by Carlie Smith, 19, and her passenger, Jennifer Nowacki, 18, both of West Milford.
Police said the impact sent the CRV over the guardrail and into a ditch.
Emergency crews took all three individuals to Chilton Medical Center in Wayne for evaluation, police said.
Patrolman Gary Yarnall is handling the investigation into the crash.
