—It's the ultimate block party. West Milford's 18th annual Autumn Lights Festival is happening on Saturday, Oct. 13, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. And this year promises to be the best yet.
Expectations are for upwards of 20,000 people coming to town for the festival. Over 200 craft and food vendors will line Union Valley Road from Bearfort Plaza down to the corner of Marshall Hill Road.
The West Milford Presbyterian Church's chicken barbeque is a centerpiece of the festival. It's not to be missed.
Local entertainment will fill the air with music from four stages along the street.
Stop by the booths sponsored by many of West Milford's volunteer and non-profit organizations. Meet your volunteer emergency responders, see what the American Legion is doing for veterans and how about the Elks and Rotary? Learn what these and many other groups bring to the community.
Why not get involved in one of the eating contests? In addition to the pickle and pasta eating contests, this year there is a pie eating contest, so bring your appetite and your sweet tooth.
There are rides and games for the kids, an antique car show and a cutest baby contest.
It's just a great, fun day of community.
Shuttle buses will be available from the PALL and Hillcrest Community Center where offsite parking is available.
So grab the kids and bring your friends from out of town. The Autumn Lights Festival is the place to be.
