Fundraiser for Sustainable West Milford planned

| 05 Sep 2012 | 12:11

— Come join Sustainable West Milford on Saturday, Sept. 29, from 4 to 6 p.m. for an afternoon of delectable wine, food, and live music in a beautiful outdoor setting. The back garden at the Utopia Deli/Suzy's Tomato Pizza will be filled with treats for the palate, including wine samples from Uncorked Wines and Spirits, and hot and cold finger food from our hosts Don and Sue of Utopia Deli and Suzy's Tomato Pizza. Local singer/songwriter/producer Tony Christopher will add to the ambiance with a mix of both original songs and familiar favorites.
A dozen stemless wine glasses will be raffled off to all who attend. Get your raffle ticket at the door for a chance to win.
All tickets for the event come with a 22 percent off coupon for a case of wine at Uncorked Wines and Spirits. Both "value" and "high end" cases will be available, so you can enjoy the wines that you sampled at the event. You do not have to be present to receive the coupon. If a case of wine is not in your plans after the event, Uncorked has also generously offered to donate $1 to Sustainable West Milford from the purchase of each individual wine sampled at the event.
The price is $35 per ticket prior to the event, or $40 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at Uncorked Wines and Spirits at 9 Marshall Hill Road, the West Milford Farmer’s Market on Wednesdays from 3 to 7 p.m., the Utopia Deli, located at 355 Warwick Turnpike, or online at www.sustainablewestmilford.org.
Overflow parking and post-event festivities will be at the Pioneer Bar and Grill across the street.
Sustainable West Milford is an all-volunteer-led organization, which relies on community support not only to continue existing programs, like the West Milford Farmer’s Market, the Organic Community Garden, and the Native Medicinal garden, but also to develop new opportunities, like the West Milford Time Bank, and other initiatives that increase focus on buying local. This fundraiser does more than support Sustainable West Milford; it promotes the local businesses that are the fabric of our community.
