Girls of all ages and sizes from across the tri-state area congregated at the Sussex County Technical School to do all things girly.
The Girls World Expo 2012 presented by Straus News was held Sunday, Sept. 30 combined education and participation to create futures.
In workshops, seminars, demonstrations and displays girls explored different college and career choices with the help of mentors and experts in those fields, learned how to create a healthy body image by uncovering the facts about food and nutrition, unlocked the secrets to staying safe online and in life and heard success stories from creative women leaders from all walks of life.
The expo also included: seminars on today’s trending topics, such as body image, bullying, self-esteem and healthy relationships and self-defense; a marketplace with local vendors displaying clothing, jewelry, books, art and salon items; a science fair showcasing inventions from local middle school and high school girls; college and career fair featuring companies, colleges and trade schools; a fashion show; an art show; live music and dancers; and a breakfast recognizing the Sussex County Girls of Merit.
