Sustainable West Milford's Community Garden has plots available
WEST MILFORD — Sustainable West Milford has plots available in its Community Garden. Whether you are a novice looking to learn or an experienced gardener looking to work with people who share your passion, the Community Garden is your place. You will grow delicious, more nutritious, pesticide-free, less expensive food for your family this year.
There are a few plots still available for the 2013 growing season in the Community Garden at Apple Acres on Union Valley Road in West Milford.
Established in 2007, this all-organic educational garden lets family members have a hands-on educational experience while growing their own healthful food and flowers. In addition to individual plots, the garden will continue to support the Ample Harvest food pantry network. They are also planning a vigorous educational program.
Sign-up and orientation will be held on Tuesday, March 19, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Hillcrest Community Center, 1810 Macopin Road in West Milford.

Marshall Hill holding clothing drive
WEST MILFORD — Marshall Hill School will be accepting clothing donations for its annual clothing drive at the monthly PTA meetings. The upcoming dates for these PTA meetings are Feb. 20 and April 9, at Marshall Hill School, 210 Marshall Hill Road, West Milford. Leave items in sealed plastic bags at the main entrance, located on the left side of the building, before 8 p.m.
The final collection is scheduled for April 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the school parking lot. Donations accepted include adult and children’s clothing, shoes, belts, handbags, hats, soft household items (sheets, towels, comforters, curtains, etc.), stuffed animals and small plastic toys. These items are distributed to those in need, not destroyed.
