Approximately 275 walkers showed up on April 30 for the Irish Whisper Walk of Hope in Memory of Danny Kane, all to benefit the Lymphoma Research Foundation.
This was the 7th annual event, honoring one of West Milford's favorite residents of Pinecliff Lake and longtime teacher at Macopin Middle School. Kane died of mantle cell lymphoma in 2009. His family and friends, including his wife Patti Kane and their children Tricia, Kathleen and Daniel, had been walking for the Lymphoma Research Foundation for years before he died. Afterward, the Irish Whisper Walk took off.
On the day of event, they had raised $34,000, with more coming in.
Formed in 2006, the Irish Whisper team has raised more than $375,000 for the Lymphoma Research Foundation.
