The fourth grade students at Ringwood Christian School know that learning can be so much fun. In fact, with the help of their teacher, Jen Miller, they found that cake and social studies make a great combination. After having spent a year studying the geography and history of New Jersey, they celebrated with a very special treat. Each student was assigned a New Jersey county to research. They learned about the various geographical features of their particular county, and with the help of their parents, they baked a cake in the shape of that county. They then added candy kisses, gummy bears, gum drops, licorice and lots of icing to highlight the mountains, beaches, rivers and other special land features. The special New Jersey cake was so big, the fourth graders shared it with the entire school!
