WEST MILFORD — Macopin Middle School teachers Artie Joecks and Richard Dygos are running the Macopin Giving Tree program at the school for the fifth consecutive year. This program asks for donations from the community, such as toys, games and books - new or used - which then will be given to less fortunate children and families during the holiday season.
This year’s theme is “Give the Gift of Literacy.” Joecks and Dygos would like to donate a book with each gift given to a child. These items will then be wrapped by the Macopin Middle School Student Council and then forwarded to area children who may not otherwise experience the joy of the holiday season. A Christmas tree will be placed in the Macopin main office lobby area for donations, which will be taken until Dec. 14, 2012.
