Musicians bring holiday joy to seniors

— The holidays are a wonderful time for many reasons. One of those reasons is the abundance of musical performances here in town. The West Milford High School choir and musicians making a stop at the Hillcrest Community Center to entertain the township's senior citizens and members of P.R.I.D.E. has become a tradition. This year was as special as can be.

The West Milford High School Choir, under the direction of Doug Heyburn, wowed the group with their beautiful voices. The musicians were extraordinary.

The beautiful holiday songs, sung by the choir, and the tunes played by the West Milford High School Brass Ensemble included some traditional songs, including "Joy to the World" and "White Christmas," which were especially well received by the seniors. Band director Brian McLaughlin explained that many of the old Christmas favorites arose during the years of World War II.

After the musical performance, lunch was served, all under the direction of Gail Kahler of Community Services and Recreation, Older Adult Services.
