WEST MILFORD — The West Milford Farmers' Market is moving to the Presbyterian Church in 2013.
In a release from the Farmers' Market Committee of Sustainable West Milford, they announced they made the decision because of logistical issues presented by the upcoming construction project over by ShopRite. The market was housed in the Wells Fargo parking lot adjacent to ShopRite last year.
Prior to that, it was at the Our Lady Queen of Peace parking lot.
"Sustainable West Milford has worked with the church almost since its inception," according to a release by Sustainable West Milford. "The church has been a wonderful partner in our success in West Milford, and we look forward to continuing this successful partnership through the Farmer’s Market."
Located about 100 yards from the Wells Fargo parking lot at 1452 Union Valley Road, the church offers a picturesque, shaded, quiet, and safe setting for the market. An extra bonus to the move is that the market will be able to feature weekly performances by local musicians once again.
This year's market will be a bit larger than last year's, with even more choices. All of the vendors from last year are back, including Hazelman Farms, Ideal Farms, Kittatinny Mountain Farms, Noble Pies, George's Farmhouse Gourmet, Ochs Orchards, Picklelicious, Pie Eyed Bar Pies, R&L Greenhouses, and of course, Snoep Winkel Farms, Even more vendors are being added, so check the Web site as opening day draws near.
As in previous years, the market will be held on Wednesdays, rain or shine, from 3 to 7 p.m. For 2013, the market will be open from June 5 to Oct. 16.
"As always, we are still looking for interested vendors and artisans that add value to our market," the release stated.
