WEST MILFORD — When people visit the West Milford Animal Shelter, they expect to see cats, dogs and kittens available tor adoption.
But there can also be other animals in need of new homes and families. Over the years, the shelter has had chickens, ducks, birds, ferrets, other small animals and even a pig!
Right now the shelter has a small rabbit named Nutmeg for adoption. And even though Nutmeg just recently arrived at the shelter, he has made a friend. A cat named Max has taken a liking to spending time "looking out" for him.
And this is very unusual. Max is a very loving and friendly cat but does not blend well with the other cats. He likes to tease and annoy the other cats.
Max is also the shelter's office cat - he is free roaming in the office area. And Max has lots to say about being "in charge" of the office. Check out his antics on facebook/TheRealCatsAtWMASS.
There are also many other lovely cats, cute kittens and friendly dogs in need of new forever homes.
