WEST MILFORD — It's become a Macopin tradition. Operation Thank You kicks off next week, an effort to send care packages to the soldiers serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Since 2003, teacher Richard Dygos has run the program. Macopin faculty members, students, business owners and residents donate generously for the soldiers, bringing items that are not always available overseas. The donations are packed in boxes and shipped to the soldiers serving overseas, bringing them a little bit of home during the holiday season.
Letters to the soldiers are also welcome and will be boxed with the care package items.
Anyone who has a friend or relative serving in Iraq or Afghanistan and would like to have a car package sent, should give the soldier's name and address to Dygos. Contact him at richdygos@yahoo.com by Dec. 12. Any questions on what to donate, email Dygos.
