PAL hosting Thunder in the Highlands

WEST MILFORD — Get ready for some thunder.

Next Friday, June 29, the West Milford Police Athletic League (PAL) is hosting the annual Thunder in the Highlands, a family-friendly festival that draws thousands each year.

Therewill be amusement rides, great food, games, vendors, local musiciansand of course, fireworks. Fireworks are the centerpiece of Thunder,and will be held on Friday at dark. Gates are open to thepublic at the former Jungle Habitat site, near the Greenwood LakeAirport, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Craft and food vendors will be on hand,along with musicians Brian Fitzpatrick and the Band of Brothers, BLK and BLU, and Jimmy the Barber and the Rockaholics. The music will continue throughout the evening.

Come ride the rides, visit the displays, make some sand art and partake of the delicious food. There will be so much for the kids to do, and so close to home. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy this hometown celebration.

Of course, Thunder in the Highlands is a tribute to our nation's birthday. There's no better place to watch fireworks than atop the mountain against a black sky. It is spectacular.
