Passaic County hosting hate crimes forum

    The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office is sponsoring a hate crimes forum at 5 p.m., Dec. 4, according to a press release.
    The forum is open to the public and will take place in the main campus auditorium at Passaic County Community College, 1 College Boulevard in Paterson, the release said.
    The meeting will feature speakers from the Prosecutor's Offi ce, the Passaic County Sheriff's Department, the New Jersey State attorney General's Offcie, the FBI, U.S. Attorney's Office, the Deparment of Homeland Security and interfaith leaders in the communities, according to the release.
    The presenters will give out information regarding understanding hate crime laws as well as how such cases are investigated and prosecuted, hearing from community leaders on the challenges facing their diverse groups, and what resources are available for the community in the aftermath of a hate crime.
