Visitors to the West Milford Animal Shelter can meet "Penny."

Penny is the shelter's sweet, vibrant, excited, happy and loving dog. She is 11-years-old, and full of life, according to the shelter.

The staff can’t believe she hasn’t been adopted yet.

This girl needs to be adopted by an adult family (no small kids) and seems good with other dogs and cats.

Penny needed to be released to the shelter by her last owner through no fault of her own, according to the staff.

Staff members say she's always happy and loves toys.

If you already have a dog, please call before bringing your dog for them to meet so we can be sure the shelter has an available volunteer at the time of the visit to let the two dogs spend time together.

Potential owners can come for their first visit without the dog to fill out the pre-adoption form and to spend as much time as they like with Penny.

The shelter does not adopt on a first come basis, and always adopt to the best home for the animals.

Renters should bring proof (lease/contract) that they can have a dog, and slso bring vet's information to put on the adoption form.

The adoption fees for dogs is always $100.

The shelter is located on Lycosky Drive (behind recycling), (973) 728-2859.
