Pet of the Week: 'Kona' wants to meet a new owner

WEST MILFORD – The West Milford Animal Shelter would like readers to meet “Kona.”
Kona is a 9-year-old Alaskan Malamute that is housebroken and walks on the leash.
The staff says she’s not a fan of being alone though and will howl occasionally.
All of the shelter volunteers love her as Kona is a sweet, good girl, and want her to enjoy the rest of her golden years as an ‘only pet’ so she gets full attention and affection in her new home.
The shelter is taking applications now for an adult only home for Kona and does not adopt on a first come basis, but prefer to adopt to the best fitting home for the animals.
Renters need to bring proof (lease/contract) that they can have a dog.
Prospective owners should also please bring their vet's information to put on the adoption form.
The shelter is located on Lycosky Drive (behind recycling), (973) 728-2859, and is open Monday – Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Saturday – Sunday from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
It is also open Wednesday evenings 7:30-9 p.m.
