Summer is officially here and the West Milford Community Services and Recreation Department has announced its numerous summer programs.
One of those programs is the Bubbling Springs Boot Camp, which includes workouts on the beach for people age 16 and up.
The workout sessions, which will be instructed by ACE Certified Group Fitness Instructor D.J. Neill, will be held on Wednesdays July 3, 10, 17, 24, 31; and August 7 and 14.
The sessions will be free to attend for Bubbling Springs members but will cost $5 for non-lake members and participants are advised to bring a mat, two bath/beach towels, a pillow case, and a set of dumbbells.
Another summer program is the Camp Brix Lego Camp, running from July 15-19 and July 29-Aug 2.
The camp, which is open to children in grades 1-6, will be held in the West Milford Library on Union Valley Road and hosted by Camp Coordinator and certified teacher, Pamela deWaal.
Participants will get the chance to work with counselors and other children to build Lego castles, spaceships, pirate ships, etc.
Snacks will be provided each day and limited spaces are available.
Kids aren’t the only ones who can get in on the summer fun, though, as the Community Services and Recreation department also announced its adult co-ed volleyball classes.
There will be both beginner and advanced level classes held at the Recreation Center on Wednesdays July 10, 17, 24, and 31; and Aug. 7, 14, 21, and 28.
Classes will take place in the evening and will cost $40 for residents and $50 for non-residents.
Aside from the programs mentioned above, the West Milford Community Services and Recreation department also announced a number of additional programs.
Those include kid’s cooking and engineering camps, a swimming league, a youth field hockey league, youth kickball leagues, a youth tennis camp and adult tennis clinic, multi-sport squirts and soccer squirts programs, a pickleball program, yoga classes, men’s and women’s slow pitch softball, and a variety of other day camps for kids.
West Milford Recreation has also made arrangements with Mad Science, an enrichment organization, to provide Mad Science camps, which will be offered as full day and half day options.
